Keds Spring 2012 Footwear and Apparel Preview Party

Keds Spring 2012 apparel line

I was graciously invited to the Keds Spring 2012 footwear and apparel preview party at The Blue Plate in San Francisco last week. This was my first glimpse at their new collection hitting stores very soon. First thoughts, fresh and fun! I have to admit I haven’t bought Keds since I was a young girl. I do remember, however, that I lived in their shoes. They were the perfect every day shoe and still are. It was nice to see a new fun side of Keds with their Spring 2012 footwear containing a variety of fun upbeat patterns and colors, from checkers to stripes to glimmers.

The Blue Plate restaurant, where the party was held, was a quaint cute place near Bernal Heights. Their appetizers were amazing, their beet or d’oeuvre was my favorite! Along with the delicious food was a watercolor artist painting pictures of each guest wearing their choice of Spring 2012 apparel. All in all, the event was a success. I was able to meet an awesome group of Keds brand executives, dine on delicious appetizers, while “oo-ing” and “awe-ing” over their new collection. Take a look at the fun pictures I shot at the event below! Enjoy!

McQueen Oscar Gown and Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2012 Must-Haves

Jessica Chastain in McQueen at Oscars 2012

There has been much talk about whether or not Jessica Chastain’s McQueen gown was a success at the 84th Academy Awards. To all those blogger sites that said it was a worst dressed nominee, “You are wrong!”.  I absolutely loved her McQueen gown. Now don’t get me wrong. Not everyone likes gold on black gowns. It sort of an acquired taste. I, on the other hand, love the combination. It portrays a sort of romantic baroque feel. Sexy to say the least.

Dolce and Gabbana has introduced a similar collection of baroque-like fashion for Fall 2012 and I am IN LOVE WITH IT!  This collection is a combination of sultry, edgy romanticism. Makes me wish I lived during this era. Below are my favorite pieces from the collection. Let me know what you think! For the full Fall 2012 collection click here.

My boyfriend picked up these Australian sheepskin UGG’s for me while on his trip to Australia last month. I’ve never owned a pair and what good time to start owning some that flew over 7000 miles to get to me. Now that the weather in SF is getting gloomy I’m even more excited to slip on these warm fluffy booties. Go Aussie’s!

Back Embroidery: Testament Top

image

This is a back view of my latest purchase from Plato’s Closet in San Mateo, my Testament shirt. The back was the reason I bought the shirt. The embroidery is beautiful and elegant. This shirt pairs well with either dressy pants or just straight jeans for a more elegant comfortable look. Can I just also say I got this for only…$9! Well worth the money. :)

My First Look at The Body Shop’s Spring/Summer Collections

L-R Clockwise: Brush With Fashion A La Mode Limited Collection For Eyes, Honey Bronze Makeup Line, Earth Lovers Apricot & Basil and Pear & Lemongrass Biodegradable Shower Gels, Brush With Fashion Eye Kits and Lip Glosses, Brush With Fashion Swag Bag, Apricot & Basil Biodegradable Shower Gel

I’ve always had a knack for certain beauty products. I know exactly which foundation, eye cream, eyeshadow, liner, lipstick, and gloss I like. I rarely ever stray from my favorites. A few brands I am devoted to are Smashbox, Laura Mercier, Bare Escentuals, and MAC Cosmetics. I love these products because I know I can trust them. Recently though I was introduced to The Body Shop makeup line.  Every time I hear of the The Body Shop I always think of shower gels, shampoos, and lotions, never makeup, so when I was given the opportunity to try their limited edition Brush With Fashion line I jumped on it. I thought here is my chance to test out their products and to my surprise they were quite awesome!

Me in Body Shop products

Their new spring line Brush with Fashion is a cruelty-free, fashion-forward make-up and accessories collection.  It has built-in brushes, Community Fair Trade ingredients and covetable packaging that was created in collaboration with the internationally-acclaimed London College of Fashion. Above is a headshot I took at The Brush With Fashion Body Shop event I attended a few weeks ago in San Francisco. All makeup I am wearing is from The Body Shop including my foundation, blush, and mascara. The eyeshadow used is the Boho Beauty palette from the Brush With Fashion line. Boho Beauty offers wearable matte shades in nude, apricot and browns.

A Touch of 70′s- TOKYObay Flora Watch Shoot

Flora Watch by TOKYObay

Why 70′s? Because it reminds me of an era I wish I had lived in. Bold colors. Big pants. Casual lifestyle. Here is my second installment of photos I took for San Francisco accessories brand, TOKYObay.  The piece I am presenting is the retro Flora watch featured above. The watch contains an ivory dial and floral suede strap; both qualities I love in a watch.

My outfit is a representation on how seventies flare can be added to a simple modern outfit; for example, a pair of skinny jeans and a black tank. I changed up my simple outfit by adding in a stylish yellow shoulder bag, bright blue drop earrings, and a multi-colored patterned scarf. Color is huge right now. Can’t wait to get my hands on some neon!

70's Daydreamer

Featured items: Flora TOKYObay watch, thrift skinny jeans, Mouse and Moe Canopy Triple Earrings, Urban Expression shoulder bag, American Eagle pointed shoes, American Rag black tank, and thrift 70′s scarf
