If you haven’t been to the Treasure Island Flea Market yet you should go. I went for the first time a few weekends ago and had the time of my life. There are a ton of vendors inside and out ranging from furniture, clothing, jewelry, home goods, artwork, and more. Every month new vendors appear with unique handmade items you can’t find anywhere.
For instance, I got stuck at one booth for the longest time. The vendor is called “The Castle Walls”, there you can find the coolest collection of handmade steampunk jewelry. Below is a ring I bought at that booth. I know, totally weird, but I was drawn to it.
The flea market also consists of an array of ethnic food trucks consisting of burgers, Belgian waffles, donuts, Peruvian food and more. It’s pure heaven I tell ya. Oh and did I mention the view from the flea market? To die for. On a sunny day you can sit by the water and overlook the entire city of San Francisco including an awesome view of the Bay Bridge. Hope you enjoy the pics I took while there. Enjoy!
Jessica Chastain in McQueen at Oscars 2012
There has been much talk about whether or not Jessica Chastain’s McQueen gown was a success at the 84th Academy Awards. To all those blogger sites that said it was a worst dressed nominee, “You are wrong!”. I absolutely loved her McQueen gown. Now don’t get me wrong. Not everyone likes gold on black gowns. It sort of an acquired taste. I, on the other hand, love the combination. It portrays a sort of romantic baroque feel. Sexy to say the least.
Dolce and Gabbana has introduced a similar collection of baroque-like fashion for Fall 2012 and I am IN LOVE WITH IT! This collection is a combination of sultry, edgy romanticism. Makes me wish I lived during this era. Below are my favorite pieces from the collection. Let me know what you think! For the full Fall 2012 collection click here.

30 Seconds to Mars
30 Seconds to Mars made this list because Jared Leto is by far the hottest musician out there. All 3 look amazing in their black outfits and black shades. Yumm. BTW, if you haven’t seen their new music video Hurricane watch it now. It’s by far my favorite music video of the year.

Falling Whistles inspired me and the rest of Retail Camp LA last week when a representative of the company presented a touching video on their journey for peace in Congo. The war in Congo is one of the largest and deadliest in the world. Falling Whistles hopes to change this by turning common individuals into whistle-blowers for peace by selling them a simple whistle that can be worn around the neck in protest of the war. 100% of the proceeds from the whistles are used to restore the lives of war-affected kids through rehabilitation programs and stateside advocacy.
Together, we’ll become the voice of a growing coalition for peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo. -Falling Whistles
Watch the video. Read the story. Buy the whistle and become part of a movement for peace worldwide.
